No fish.

I don't have any fish to eat. Even Gollum got to eat fish. So the phrase, "you are what you eat?" I think Gollum was transforming into a fish. And Tolkien knew that, but his creations had taken on a mind of their own (I've heard it happens to writers) and he was so bothered that he chose to kill Gollum off with a very important death. You see, you cannot reform a fish any more than you can befrog a friend. So Gollum had to die and Tolkien was so traumatized he told C. S. Lewis that the idea of talking animals was a crazy and childish idea, but of course, Tolkien used more words to say that. Now my brain has supplied a needed reason for Tolkien's opinions on talking animals and my world just feels better. I think I'm hungry.

This article is not the exact quote that I remember, but I still enjoyed it! It does explain a bit about Tolkien's elves... http://www.beliefnet.com/Entertainment/Movies/Narnia/The-Talking-Beasts-Of-Narnia.aspx

Yet another article. http://www.thestonetable.com/articles/220,1.html I love the quote about Tolkien, "No harm in him, only needs a smack or so."

Hey look! It's my blog!

I forgot I had a blog. That's a little awkward. It's like forgetting you have a fish. If blogs could bark and were cuddly it would be easier to remember them. If fish were cute and cuddly I wouldn't eat them. But they're not and I'm not so I eat fish. Now somewhere in there is a lesson but I just lost interest in this post and I want to go eat something instead. Maybe I'll find some fish...

Externship Note Transcription

Day 1
Met more people, watched an MRI safety video, Reggie and I played a computer game about radiation safety, found our locker, ran home for lunch and found out I could come at 8:00 rather than 6:45am - joy and happiness! Learned how to make coffee....
Day 2
Shadowed Sheri. Saw real patient charts, learned more about forms, sheets and germicidal cleaners. Blueberries and bread for lunch! Oh and did stuff with butterfly needles. But not at lunch.
Day 3
Mom saved my hide by waking my up from my dream - my dream of doing everything I needed to do that morning. I was convinced I was awake!!
Got there on time (miraculously) and started in on cleaning, sorting, talking, filing, and I think that was the day I got to watch a few x-rays be taken. Forgot my blasted badge again so I drove home on the lunch hour to get it. Mixed tumescent for the first time! [and I figured out a link to it!]
Day 4
One of my favorite days! Helped set up a sterile field and got to watch a VNUS procedure! Amazing! Dr. J is right handed but uses both hands during a procedure. It's a bit of a buzz when you watch someone fry the Greater Saphenous Vein with meds and radio waves. The reason why that is done is because the 'GSV' is a superficial vein and if it is stopped, the varicose veins simply go away. After the procedure the vein tightens like a bowstring until it is reabsorbed by the body. Then it's on to the ugly thigh-high compression stockings and girdle. The patients have the weekend to wear those things and they return on Monday .
After the procedure I ran around scanning and sorting and then helped Joe (MAMMO) sort her superfluity of neccessary files for around 2-3 hours. It felt longer...

I feel accomplished.

I feel accomplished because I remembered how to post something. I felt more accomplished until a second ago when I hit the enter key and it posted my entry without any subject. I ought to have left it that way. Then I would laugh every time I saw it. As it is I have finished my Externship! Because I am such a good student I wrote about most of my days and that entry will be forthcoming.
This font is called Trebuchet but as far as I am concerned it is unworthy of the name. It doesn't decimate ANYTHING and is distinguishable only because of its normalcy. While that's on my brain, why is it that my blasted computer insists it will update at the most inconvient times? And then it keeps bothering me until I let it. Why can't it update when I'm not using it? Eh? It is questions like this that make me question the sanity of any Windows programmer, builder, organizer, person, thing. Now I post.

Thus I embark on a new journey....

Blogging. It sounds like something a person would say when their nose is stuffed up.

As my first post I ought to introduce my blog. As per the name I'm traveling the legendary, "Road less traveled by." Hence my ramblings are so unique I decided to share them with... myself! Yes it is too true. I will be the only one following my blog. The words on this black background are an extension of my brain. I decided to let it out for an airing in hopes that it might behave better. Time will tell. As it is, my life just got that much more entertaining.
